This free download contains the Service Pack 2 to upgrade existing installations of STEP 7 Basic V11 / V11 SP1; it can only be installed, if STEP 7 Basic V11 / V11 SP1 is installed already.
For new installations (e.g. on Windows 7 64-bit operating systems) you require the STEP 7 Basic Single -> Floating License package (order no. 6ES7822-0AA01-0YC5).

The STEP 7 V11 Service Pack 2 already includes all the changes of STEP 7 V11 SP1 incl. updates.
How to obtain the Service Pack
Customers with a Software Update Service agreement will receive the Service Pack automatically.
Upgrading to the Service Pack is also possible via the respective Trial versions.
The Service Packs 2 for STEP 7 Basic V11 and STEP 7 Professional V11 are also available for download to upgrade existing installations (entry ID 56750498). Installation is only possible if the predecessor version (STEP 7 V11 / V11 SP1) is installed already.
The download is not suitable for new installations (e.g. to Windows 7 64-bit). You require the STEP 7 Professional V11 SP2 Trial DVD (order no. 6ES7822-1AA01-0YA7), or, in the case of STEP 7 Basic the STEP 7 Basic V11 Single -> Floating License update (order no. 6ES7822-0AA01-0YC5) instead.

STEP 7 Safety Advanced V11 can be employed together with the Service Pack 2 of STEP 7 Professional (entry ID55277472)
STEP 7 Professional / Basic V11 SP2 (incl. WinCC Basic V11 SP2) can be installed on one computer in parallel with other versions of STEP 7 (V5.4 / V5.5), STEP 7 Professional 2006/2010, STEP 7 Basic V10.5, STEP 7 Micro/WIN, WinCC flexible (2008 and higher) and WinCC (ab V7.0 SP2).
Installation of STEP 7 V11 SP2 and WinCC V11 SP1 is also permitted.

Software Update Service (SUS)
Customers with a valid Software Update Service agreement for STEP 7 Professional or STEP 7 Basic will receive the Service Pack 2 automatically.
A conversion package to STEP 7 Professional SUS is available for STEP 7 Software Update Service customers.
Updating the Field PG M3 software
With all current orders for the Field PG M3 (except Trial) the upgrade to STEP 7 Professional V11 SP2 will be included with the shipment. The adjusted Field PG M3 installation will be ready in January 2012. A separate release bulletin for the new Field PG M3 software will follow.

Beginning with Service Pack 2 of STEP 7 V11, STEP 7 Basic will be delivered with a Floating License key.
Customers who wish to upgrade an existing STEP 7 Basic V11 32-Bit installation to SP2, require only the SP2 (e.g. Trial version). The existing License Key can continue to be used..
For a new installation (e.g. on Windows 7 64-bit operating systems), STEP 7 Basic V11 customers require the STEP 7 Basic V11 Single -> Floating License update (order no. 6ES7822-0AA01-0YC5).
